Schloss Grubegg, Bad Mitterndorf, Austria||Date: 29 December 2008||Reviewer: Ed McDonald (Dublin, Ireland)||||We went to Schloss Grubegg with two friends from the UK for 6 days over the Christmas holiday period. It was a real getaway and our first time to be away from home for Christmas.||Our direct phone contact with the hosts of Schloss Grubegg, Martin and Walther, was always direct and very friendly. It is a country house rather than a schloss (castle) though it started its life 300 years ago as a schloss.||The whole atmosphere in it was one of total relaxation, good humour and friendliness. The hosts provided ready personal advice and information about the area and its interests, and arranged for anything we needed -- dinner reservations, ski lessons, taxi services. It was all so relaxed, a real chill-out.||The rooms (10) were all individual and different, furnished to a high standard and all with stunning views. The overall house furnishing was individual and very attractive.||The house is set on its own grounds and would be a great centre for anyone going on a ski holiday and wanting less-ordinary hotel accommodation. We loved it so much that we will definitely go back in a different season simply to enjoy the beautiful countryside in a different way. ||Overall we got excellent service and our stay was very good value.
